4 Huge Mistakes to Avoid When Purchasing a Refurbished Printer or Copier

- Jun 25, 2018 -

Buying new printers or photocopiers for your office is not an easy task, nor is it an impulsive decision. The purchase of new office equipment should be carefully studied and strategic selected, and in line with your existing equipment and budget. If the latter is a major problem, refurbishing printers may be the answer to your purchase decision. The refurbishing machine is a small part of the cost of new printers or copiers, and has many compatibility functions that can be used in conjunction with existing equipment.

Because there are too many machines to be refurbished in the market, it may be a wrong purchase decision to find suitable refurbishing presses or photocopiers for your printing plant. Here are some of the most common mistakes we have seen from companies interested in refurbishing printers or photocopiers.

I don't know what you're buying

One of the most common mistakes we see is that buyers buy common misunderstandings, that is, the used and renovated machines are the same. The refurbished photocopiers are not new, but they are not what we usually call "used". The refurbished machine is a demonstration unit, a damaged unit or a new machine packed, a cancelled order or a previously hired unit. Once the equipment is returned to the manufacturer, the device will not be sold as new equipment.

Once the lease is completed or the machine has been returned, the refurbished duplicator will be rebuilt. These copiers are provided by manufacturers or third parties. Because the refurbished machine can not be sold like a new machine, the cost is significantly reduced compared with the new machine.

No selective seller

If you decide that the refurbished photocopier is suitable for your business, please select the buyer to ensure that you can purchase the right product. Many of the machines on the Internet are sold through unnamed sellers. These sellers hope to unload the machines without refurbishing them. When buying refurbished products, avoid third party websites that may not be able to solve machine problems.

Do not ask questions

Some sellers guarantee or authenticated their machines; ask who has made the refurbishment and warranty clauses. For example, if you are interested in a brand of copier (such as Canon or HP), please ask whether the original manufacturer of the product is used to ensure that the original parts are used.

If you are not satisfied, you can return some refurbished machines. When considering the machine, research the terms of purchase, or if not listed, ask for a guarantee for the job or warranty. If you are selective about your seller and refurbished staff, then the company will probably stand behind the product.

No purchase of compatible products

If you do not consider the other parts of the printing fleet, please do not buy the machine; please use the company with relevant knowledge to ensure that your new machine is compatible with existing computers, printer teams and IT infrastructure. Contact local experienced companies to understand your choice. Laser technology systems can do research and homework for you to ensure that you get the refurbishing machine that meets your needs and budget.
