How To Maintain The Toner Cartridge Of The Printer(1)

The toner cartridge is the core component of the printer. If you pay attention to the cartridge maintenance, you can save a lot of printing costs . The following describes some toner cartridge maintenance methods and precautions.


Tip 1: Cartridge Storage


In general, cartridges with a specially designed protective packaging to provide the longest possible storage time. In addition to the sealed package, it is also sealed with special tape. Based on the production date, the average lifespan of a cartridge stored in a sealed package is about two and a half years (referring to storage time plus time of use).

Note: The recommended total storage and use time is six months once the sealed package is damaged. Cartridges can be stored at room temperature. Remember not to let the sun directly exposed, otherwise it will affect the life of the cartridge.

 

Unopened storage points:

1. To be placed in the direction specified on the packing box (arrow up)

2. Store in normal environment (normal temperature and humidity)

3. Avoid direct sunlight and near heat sources (such as heating and steam pipes)

4. If stored in a warehouse, the following conditions shall be met: If the package is exposed to strong light, the nature of the surface layer of the photosensitive drum will deteriorate. If exposed to direct sunlight, approximately 10,000 to 30,000 lux will permanently damage the toner cartridge. Moreover, the environment will affect the nature of the toner.

 

Opened storage points

1. The toner cartridge removed from the package must be used within six months. After six months, the performance of the components of the cartridge will become unstable, and the print quality will decline, depending on the circumstances.

2. Protect the cartridge from direct sunlight or place it near the window. Do not leave toner cartridges in your car for a long time (even unopened ones) during hot weather.

3. Avoid extreme changes in temperature and humidity, such as air-conditioning or heating.

4. Avoid dusty environments or near corrosive chemicals such as ammonia or organic solvent vapors.

5. Do not expose the drum to temperatures above 104°F (40°C).
