In view of different needs, the production of toner powder tends to be fine, colorized and high speed. At present, comminution and polymerization are mainly used in the manufacturing of toner powder.
Polymerization is a fine chemical toner powder technology, which includes suspension polymerization, emulsion polymerization, microencapsulation, dispersion polymerization, compression polymerization and chemical comminution.
The polymerization process is completed in the liquid phase, and can produce toner powder with lower melting temperature, which can meet the requirements of modern technology for energy saving and environmental protection. The particle size of carbon powder was controlled by adjusting the dosage of dispersant, stirring speed, polymerization time and concentration of solution, so as to achieve uniform composition, good color and high transparency. The toner powder produced by polymerization has good grain shape, fine particle size, narrower particle size distribution and better fluidity. It can meet the requirements of modern printing technology such as high speed, high resolution, color and so on.
The technology of polymerized toner powder has been in existence for many years.
1972 - the first patent for aggregate toner powder.
70s and 80s - a wide range of improvements.
1993 - the first commercial monochrome toner powder.
1998 - the first commercial color toner powder.
The process flow of polymerized toner powder:
(resin monomer, pigment, dispersant, other reagents), then (ultrasonic dispersion), (water, dispersant) to (full agitation), to (polymerization) to (wash) to (filtration and separation) to (dry) to (after treatment) to (finished product).
Polymeric toner powder is widely used and is mainly used in the production of color toner powder because of its high cost.
Because of its large investment in toner powder, the general investment amount is about hundreds of millions of yuan. At present, only a small number of large international companies have productive capacity: Japanese CANON, KONICA, MINOLTA, FUJI-XEROX and so on all have productive capacity, but the demand for color toner is lower than expected. At present, the major companies are not fully loaded.
The whole process flow of the crushing method is as follows:
(material selection) - (material inspection) - (batching) - (premixed) - (mixing and extrusion) - (comminuted grading) - (after treatment) - (finished product) - (inspection) - (separation)
At present, a lot of carbon powder processing industry is used to make toner powder by crushing method.
Grinding method can be applied for the production of dry electrostatic copying toner including a two-component toner and one component toner (including magnetic and non-magnetic two). Because of its developing process and electrification mechanism, the proportion of its ingredients is not the same.
