What's the general structure of toner cartridges?

The basic structure of the toner cartridge consists of the basic substrate made of aluminum and the light-sensitive material coated on the substrate. According to the different photosensitive materials, they can be basically divided into three types: OPC drum (organic photo conductive material), selenium drum (Se selenium) and ceramic drum (a-Si ceramic). In terms of life expectancy, the life of the OPC drum is shorter, generally only about 3000 pages, and of course the price is the cheapest. The life of the Se drum is about 9000 pages, and the life of the a-Si drum can reach up to 90000 pages. In terms of composition, the general OPC cartridge is only three layers. The first layer is aluminum tube, the second layer is insulation layer, and the third layer is photosensitive layer. The surface of the selenium drum (Se selenium) and the ceramic drum (a-Si ceramic) is composed of four to five layers of material. Especially the ceramic drum, its fourth layer is the first protection layer, the fifth layer is the second protection layer, the fourth and the fifth layer are used to protect the photosensitive layer.
